Costume National Backless 90's Mule with Kitten heel. For me, Costume National is the brand to best encompass 90's fashion. Launched in Milan in 1986, the brand attracted instant recognition. It wasn't until 1995 that Costume National opened shops world wide (the most noteworthy obviously being the New York City shop). Costume National ALWAYS hit the nail on the head, dressing New Yorks elite, and less elite but equally as chic modern day 90's women. They were that perfect New York 90's energy mixing edge and avant-garde silhouettes with functionality, which was exactly what we needed in the 90's, specifically in New York City. It was to everyones dismay in 2016 that the 2 brains behind the operation, brothers Ennio and Carlo Capasa, shut their doors. Purchasing these shoes is holding a piece of fashion history that will forever be remembered!
